What is kinesiology?

Kinesiology encompasses holistic health disciplines which use the gentle art of muscle monitoring to access information about a person’s well-being. Originating in the 1970’s, it combines Western techniques and Eastern wisdom to promote physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. Kinesiology identifies the elements which inhibit the body’s natural internal energies and accessing the life enhancing potential within the individual. The Australian Kinesiology Association

The human body is like a house that is constantly being rebuilt to an energetic plan. If this plan becomes damaged in any way, the body cannot rebuild itself in a healthy manner. Our body is made of energy. Stress and emotional issues can cause energy blocks in our body or energy fields. This blocked energy causes damage to the plan allowing areas of weakness to form in the body. When extra pressure is placed on this weak area, an injury is more likely to occur. Blocked energy may also manifest in the body as areas of ‘disease’.

Kinesiology aims to strengthen the weak areas of the body by clearing blocks and balancing the energy field, allowing the healing energy to flow naturally so the body is able to rebalance and heal itself.

Kinergetics is a creative system of Kinesiology which is a fast, non-invasive, simple, effective method of releasing pain and stress and locating and correcting some of the emotional and metaphysical causes of disease. Kinergetics also has unique corrections for the muscles around the JAW-The Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) and Hydration. The TMJ influences the body as a whole, including the body’s skeletal, muscular, nervous and meridian systems and the body’s ability to utilise water. Hydration influences nerve impulse conduction, biochemical reactions, and the body as a whole, as water is the medium in which our bodies operate.

Kinesiology using the Anatomy and Physiology of the Brain looks at the Cortex and Limbic System. The Limbic System is the emotional center of the brain. It’s primary role is the formation and expression of emotions and it is the seat of our short term and long term memory. It also controls the body’s overall function via its input to the hypothalamus which controls the hormones. The Limbic System allows direct access to the automatic nervous system, the digestive system, blood pressure, sexuality issues, motor movement and visual and auditory problems.

Kinesiology using Anatomy & Physiology of the Brain is of particular value to clients with learning difficulties or all manner of conscious and sub- conscious emotional issues.

  What happens in a treatment?

Kinesiology is a non-invasive method of healing. Clients remain fully clothed during a session and are generally lying relaxed on a massage table.

All relevant information around the issue being treated is put ‘into circuit’ using muscle biofeedback. Muscle biofeedback identifies areas of stress, imbalance or dysfunction in the body’s energy systems. By accessing the cause and working with the Emotions, Neurovascular and Neurolymphatic Systems, Spinal Points, Meridians, Acupoints, Chakras, Natural Healing Energy, Sound, Colour, Affirmations & Vibrational Essences, imbalances are cleared at a deep level, to bring about lasting change to our energetic and physical being.

The 7 Chi Keys are considered the “Crown Jewel” of Applied Physiology used for accessing and correcting the spiritual, physical and metaphysical interface of the human chakra/meridian/endocrine/organ system in a gentle technique. Every moment of every movement, breath, thought, feeling and activity – both positive and negative – is accumulated within these energy chakras.

The 7 Chi Keys is one of the most stable and long lasting corrections in kinesiology. It is extremely powerful and has proven effective on practically all neurological disorders such as cerebral palsy, MS, strokes, spinal cord injuries and polio, for many years after the initial imbalance occurred.

Vicki Attanasio is a qualified Kinesiologist and is a registered practitioner with:
A.K.A. Australian Kinesiology Association and
K.N.A. Kinergetics National Association

Vicki is also an Advanced Sekhem Healer. The healing energies of Sekhem are truly those of unconditional love, with the power to shape the universe yet with the gentleness to caress and heal. Sekhem is the energy of the Goddess working on all levels simultaneously – physical, mental, emotional and subtle spiritual bodies. Sekhem energy enables working as deep as needed at a core level of our belief systems - at the soul level itself.

What kinds of problems do kinesiologists treat?

Kinesiology is an effective and versatile modality suitable for all ages for detecting and correcting various imbalances in the body which may relate to:

  • Brain Integration – learning problems such as Autism, ADHD and dyslexia  - overall performance enhancement with children and adults
  • Physical traumas - it can help to clear blockages related to past or present health concerns and injuries. Some examples include whip lash, spinal cord injuries, strokes, cerebral palsy and MS.
  • Emotional Stresses - past and present issues
  • Nutrition, allergies and food sensitivities
  • Nervous system concerns like anxiety and sleep disorders
  • Belief systems
  • Toxicity – mercury and electromagnetic radiation (computers)
  • Chakras, Meridians and Circuits. Meridians are channels of subtle energy which nourish the functions and organs of the body.
